Simon Cowell Dreads Son’s Audition For ‘Britain’s Got Talent’
Following in America’s Got Talent’s well-known judge, Simon Cowell’s footsteps, his son, Eric, intends to audition for Britain’s Got Talent. And while he is a proud father, this isn’t the feeling he currently has when he thinks about his son’s venture. Eric is going to perform in front of a panel later this year. Unsurprisingly, comprising co-judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, and of course, Simon Cowell.
Simon Cowell’s Anxiety
Nothing makes a person more anxious than having to judge your child in front of a live audience and subsequently, the whole world! Unsurprisingly, Simon Cowell is getting a bit of the jitters just thinking about it. But all joking aside, recently, the America’s Got Talent judge broke his silence on what pushed him into therapy. Overall, it was hard for Simon to come to terms with his troubles even though he had openly admitted he struggled with depression and anxiety. Accepting treatment is a different story.
Admittedly, he has made some big changes in his life to help him move through the present stressors. His therapy is helping him refocus on what matters most in his life. Reportedly, he has been able to quit some bad habits, prioritize the things most important, gain back his health, and be more present with his family.

The Dreaded Audition
Interestingly, Simon Cowell revealed to The Mirror, that he was dreading this audition, more than anyone can imagine. Candidly, saying, “He’s decided that he’s going to audition for Britain’s Got Talent. That is going to be total torture.” Admittedly, Cowell said, “I mean, of all the things I’ve ever done, this will probably be the hardest.” He reasoned that Eric plays drums and asked, “Are you going to drum?” But was shocked by the answer when he said he wanted to sing, “he said he wants to sing. I went: ‘Oh God no’.” So who knows how good Eric’s singing abilities are?

Is Simon Cowell’s Son Musically Inclined?
Even though he had that initial response, Simon Cowell confirmed Eric is serious about having a career in music. Specifically, he wants to be in a rock band. While Simon may have a few reservations about the audition, he seems to be very supportive of his son overall. For example, he decided to take a break from his career last year to focus on raising his son. “I wanted to spend more time with Eric — you only get this age once. Being able to pick him up from school every day, have dinner with him every night, all that kind of stuff, I’m able to do that now,” he said.
