Big Brother fans are not happy with how Big Brother houseguest Jared conducted himself this week. Jared used a derogatory term and fans are looking to CBS to give him the correct punishment.

Fans are looking to CBS to make some changes after Jared from Big Brother called his fellow houseguest, America, the R-word. According to Monsters & Critics, Jared claims that using the word, which is a derogatory term towards someone with a learning disability, was a slip-up. He says he didn’t mean it when he said it. He even apologized to Cory after saying it. Currently, Cory and America are in a showmance.

“I don’t think she’s (America) the R-word. I slipped up. I’m sorry about that,” Jared says.

However, that’s not enough to pacify the BB fans. After all, it is listed in the code of conduct that hate speech and slurs against people with a disability are not allowed inside the house.

Several viewers have taken to Twitter to discuss what they think should happen to Jared. It seems that many want to see him sent home. However, it seems many also know that CBS won’t do anything about it. Because of this, they are putting the network on blast.

    • “Jared should be removed from the house for using a slur against America. The R-Word is just as bad as the N-word.”
    • Let’s make sure everyone remembers that Jared said the r-word about America. I know
@CBSBigBrother @CBS wont remove him, but everybody should know how trash he is #bb25
    • Jared calling America the r-word should be grounds for expulsion, especially if you have a player who has a disability in the house. Unacceptable.
    • friendly reminder that the r-word is a slur and jared used it AS a slur against america and cbs is about to do NOTHING about it #BB25

What will CBS do?

Some do think that there’s a chance that production will make sure America doesn’t go home this week. However, this isn’t enough to make up for what Jared did.

“Unfortunately, I don’t think Big Brother will do anything serious to address the Jared situation. But, I think they’ll make sure America doesn’t go home this week to avoid more backlash #bb25,” another fan writes.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the actual act of Jared saying the word was actually heard on the live feeds. This also makes it harder for production to justify sending him home.

Not the first time this year

Of course, this isn’t the first time this season someone has been sent home because of a slur in the house. During the first few days of the show, Luke was sent packing after he used the N-word. So, it seems like fans are looking for that same response to Jared and his questionable actions.

  1. OMG, Is this show so woke that if a word is used that someone finds offensive, we have to throw them out. Get over it snowflake cupcakes.

    1. Your opinions and name calling are irrelevant not to mention ignorant. The bottom line is that using hate speech is against the code of conduct for the show and as we have already seen it is grounds for removal from the game. Now I expect you to display further ignorance by falsely claiming that the r-word isn’t hate speech. Maybe you need to get a little “woke”.

  2. Luke got sent home at the beginning of the show for saying a racial slur and Jared never should have used the r word toward America. If Jared stays,,Luke should be brought back. What’s good for one is good for the other

  3. Totally agree. Jared used the slur regardless if it was on live feed or not. Its following BB code of conduct (zero tolerance), if they are not going to abide by it the Luke deserves to come back period!
