Ariana Madix: What’s Keeping Sandwich Shop ‘Something About Her’ From Opening?
Anyone who has opened a small business knows it isn’t an easy process. There are often unexpected setbacks and unforeseen challenges that can pop up at any stage of the process. Unfortunately, Ariana Madix is living with this headache presently. Ariana Madix gave some insight into the latest happenings with the Something About Her Sandwich Shop.
Ariana Madix Playing The Waiting Game
In general, Ariana Madix is extremely ready for the shop to open. Not only because it will be amazing, but it will also stand as a distraction from all of the drama over the past few months. Notably, she has faced extra stress due to her ex, Tom Sandoval cheating with her former friend and co-star, Raquel Leviss. The shop opening will be a great stepping stone in her restaurant dream and in moving past the Sandoval scandal known as Scandoval.
Ariana Madix reflected on the overall project, “It’s been really awesome to just kind of have this project that is a brick and mortar, it is like an actual location, to keep going back to and focus on,” she admitted. “[When] things kind of like die down and chill out a little bit, it’ll be really nice to have this project that is something that is very tangible.”

What’s The Holdup?
During the Scheananigins With Scheana Shay podcast in August 2023, Ariana Madix told Scheana Shay about some of the reasons the sandwich shop isn’t scheduled to open yet. The Vanderpump Rules star stated the main reason there is no opening date has to do with building and safety permits in the city of West Hollywood.
“We had to rip out the patio because West Hollywood would like to turn Robertson into a walking street, so there’s a lot of city improvement projects going on on Robertson,” Madix told Shay. “That caused us to have to switch up the outdoor patio so now we’re working on a different outdoor seating plan, so there’s been some holdups in terms of that which has been frustrating.”

Moving Right Along
Even though there have been some setbacks, Ariana Madix shared things that are falling into place as well. “I wish I had a definitive date for you,” she said. “It will be soon. We have our security system going this week, Our POS system is going in this week, so things are moving along. We’ve had some hiccups, obviously, along the way.”
Presently, Ariana Madix shared her and Katie Maloney’s vision for the business. It has been one of the most rewarding parts of the experience. “I feel like we’ve had such a great time doing it together and our vision, we’ve had the exact same ideas and vision, we’ve agreed like this whole process and it’s been so fun getting to do all of that with her,” she said. “It’s been a really good source of positivity and feeling productive and having a goal we’re going for.”
