‘Today’ Savannah Guthrie & Hoda Kotb GONE & Replaced
Today hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb are GONE and replaced. Viewers have noticed many absences on the talk show recently, naturally sparking concerns. Savannah and Hoda are the most recent to part ways with the show. But is this permanent or temporary? What’s going on? Keep reading for all of the details.
The Today hosts have enjoyed some time off.
Of course, it doesn’t shock fans that the talk show hosts take time off here and there. Just like everyone else, they go out of town, get sick, and have personal obligations. Hoda and Savannah aren’t the only Today hosts to be absent recently. Several others have been in and out for various reasons. For example, Craig Melvin recently took some time off for a family vacation. Sometimes, the anchors choose not to publicly disclose the reasons behind their absences, so fans don’t always know what’s going on.
Recently, Savannah has been away from her seat for quite a bit of time, and naturally, this has sparked concerns. Her co-hosts previously disclosed that she was sick. She came back for a day or two and was out once again. After she was absent for a few days last week, her co-hosts informed viewers that she was on vacation.

On Monday, August 28, Savannah’s absence continued. This time, her co-host and friend, Hoda Kotb, was gone too. Fans first noticed Hoda’s absence on Friday, and she’s still not back on the show after the weekend. On Friday, Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones took over for Savannah and Hoda.
Because both of the ladies were still out on Monday, Craig Melvin and Kristen Welker filled their shoes. Unfortunately, Kristen and Craig didn’t offer many details about the usual hosts’ absences. They didn’t reveal where the ladies were or when they would be back.
Fans may recognize Kristen from Weekend Today. She won’t be a part of the NBC talk show much longer as she accepted a new role as a moderator of Meet The Press.
Hopefully, all is well with both Savannah and Hoda. Any unexplained absences worry Today viewers. If something was seriously wrong or if the ladies were permanently leaving the show, fans would likely know by now. So, Savannah may still be on vacation. It’s unclear what pulled Hoda from the show, but it could be anything from illness to a vacation.
