There is so much that Whoopi Goldberg has accomplished so much in her career. She won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Ghost which was a huge achievement. Goldberg became the second black woman to win this coveted honor. Additionally, she is known for her comedy as well as her moderating on The View. There, she has very strong opinions and stands firm in her beliefs. Yet, is there more to Goldberg behind closed doors than most people actually know? Apparently so.

According to The Sun, Whoopi Goldberg’s daughter, Alex Martin, opened up to Cannabis Cactus about what it was like growing up with her mother. Though Goldberg had fans laughing in Sister Act and her standup routines, that was not always the case. “The funny woman you see on TV is also my mother, and growing up, seeing her on different stages as a comedian and an actor, let’s just say, she’s not very funny when she’s grounding me for sneaking out of the house as a teenager,” Alex shared. This makes sense as no parent is appreciated when they are in serious mode.

Luckily, Alex does respect her mother enough to want to work with her. Along with Alex’s daughter, Amara Skye, the three women have decided to go into business together. They are starting a cannabis brand called Emma & Clyde which Alex has really high hopes for. She would love to see it go on for years that not only helps people who use cannabis for recreation but also for medical purposes. “We just want to contribute to developing high-quality products that make people feel good and that we also love ourselves,” per Martin.

Whoopi Goldberg has been passionate for some time about making cannabis for women. She had wanted to create a line with her former cannabis company directed at menstrual cramps. Unfortunately, that hit a wall and they did end up shutting down. Now, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side, they seem to have a true mission. Plus, Whoopi has an amazing platform to share her new brand with people who will listen. Businesswoman can now be added to her list of titles.
