‘DWTS’ Inside Derek Hough & Hayley Erbert’s Wedding Day
DWTS judge Derek Hough is now a married man!
The 38-year-old publicly revealed today that he and his long-time girlfriend Hayley Erbert officially tied the knot. Many Dancing With The Stars fans suspected the wedding day would be in the summer or early fall, based on Derek’s tour and the DWTS filming schedule.

Derek Hough & Hayley Erbert wanted their wedding day to be meaningful
Every couple brings unique and thoughtful elements to their wedding. But as for Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert, they had something incredibly special in mind for their venue.
They reportedly married in Monterey County, California on August 26 in front of 106 guests. According to the couple, it couldn’t have been a more magical occasion.
“We’re in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of this mother tree that’s surrounded by all these smaller trees,” Hayley told PEOPLE about their special day. “They drop all the seeds, and it plants kind of like an army of children to protect the mother. The symbolism of it was beautiful. We’re here, planting our seeds to grow our family.”
“When we were thinking about location we asked ourselves, ‘What’s important to us?'” Derek shared. “Nature was the first thing. We want to be around trees and plants and Northern California kind of spoke out to us. We just want people to experience this place that we love, this nature, but also, it just feels incredibly romantic.”
PEOPLE shares that Derek and Hayley each had six groomsmen and six bridesmaids. Mark Ballas served as the best man.
The couple is excited about their new journey together
Although Derek and Hayley have been a couple for several years, they’re incredibly excited to start this new chapter of their lives. The DWTS judge did not hold back when discussing how excited he was to finally be married.
“It’s so interesting what a small sort of piece of metal can do to your whole persona and your whole outlook on everything, where all of a sudden it’s sort of like, oh, I have this promise that I carry with me all the time,” Derek Hough replied when asked what marriage meant to him.
“And to want to be a man to live up to that promise daily for that person and for yourself and for others, it’s a powerful thing. It’s a beautiful thing,” he continued. “So for me, I’m excited to continue to aspire to be that man each and every day for her, for our animals and for our future family.”
