‘Today’ Host Calls Al Roker ‘Jerk’ Over Snarky Comment
One of the Today hosts called Al Roker a “jerk” over a snarky comment he made while on the air. During a recent segment, things got a little dicey between two of the hosts. What went down? And who was the co-host that decided to call Al a jerk? Keep reading for all of the details.
Today viewers appreciate the camaraderie & jokes.
Over the years, the Today hosts have created a special bond among themselves. Today fans love tuning into the talk show each morning to see what the whole crew is up to. Viewers enjoy the frequent jokes and camaraderie between the hosts. There’s always plenty of laughter as they poke fun at one another, of course.
Things seldom get seriously tense between the Today hosts, fortunately. As we reported, Al Roker recently teased Joe Fryer for his outfit choice. And now, someone else has struck back at Al after he made another snarky comment on the air.
One host calls Al Roker a ‘jerk’ over his snarky comment.
On Thursday’s Today show, the hosts were joined by a special guest, Vicky Justiz. She’s the founder of the Daily Thrive app. During the segment, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and Sheinelle Jones joined Vicky to try out some workouts that can be done from the couch.
As the whole crew attempted the lower body exercises, Craig felt uncomfortable and hinted that things were almost getting inappropriate. His fitted suit wasn’t helping. Another exercise had him opening and closing his legs while laying on the floor. He attempted to close his suit jacket to give himself some coverage and avoid embarrassing himself. Then, he quipped, “Some producer’s gonna lose their job over this.”
Al Roker made a snarky comment in exchange, saying, “Well ‘some producer’ didn’t make you wear one size too small.”
Everyone got a good laugh out of this, of course. Then, Craig asked to move on to the upper body instead, hoping he wouldn’t feel so exposed. Sheinelle, Craig, and Al all sat up on the couch to try the next move. At this point, Craig was laughing and said to Al, “You are such a jerk.”
Near the end of the segment, Craig felt compelled to say he was sorry to Vicky. He added, “I want to formally apologize for my friend Al.” Of course, this was all in good fun.

Al should not have said what he said and Craig should not retorted as he did, even if was meant to be in fun. Most times when they have exercise guest the host are always not dressed to be attempting the exercises. When this happens the host is feeling uncomfortable should say I can’t do that here.
I think Al Roker thinks he’s funnier than he really is. When the one trying to be funny is the only one laughing. There’s a problem. Sarcasm is often cruel. Personally, I’m sick of Al’s sarcasm. Wonder how he would have reacted to comments like that made to him. If anyone is made to apologize, it should be All. He was acting like a bully. Obviously, I’m not an All fan. He offends me. I watch the show every day in spite of Al.
Craig is mostly kind And understanding . I feel like the whole show is leaning toward the sarcastic side ( Al).
I agree . . . I can’t wait until Al retires. Sick and tired of his remarks and he thinks that he is funny. Did you see him on Friday’s show when his mike wasn’t turned on. Had to make a remark about how he turned off his mike because of “streaming” during a break. Sick – not funny.
