Al Roker Takes Petty Dig At Co-Host Attire, Quickly Backtracked
Today host Al Roker took a petty dig at his co-host’s attire this week but quickly backtracked. He usually gets along with his co-hosts and doesn’t cause too much drama. While it might seem early, it won’t be long before your favorite pumpkin spice beverages and treats are available once again. As longtime Today fans may know, Al does not like all of the pumpkin spice drinks and treats. So, discussing this topic might have put him on edge, which could have led to his snarky comment at his co-host this week.
On Tuesday, August 8, the Today co-hosts sat down to chat about the upcoming pumpkin spice season. Joe Fryer showed off lots of tasty pumpkin spice-flavored goodies on the screen while wearing a fall-colored cardigan.

After Joe reported on the early launch of pumpkin spice season this year, he sat down to chat with his co-hosts. While most of his co-hosts appreciated him looking the part, Al Roker took a petty dig. Al went on a little rant about how it’s too early for pumpkin spice and made his feelings about this very clear. He never fails to point out that he dislikes pumpkin spice, anyway. Then, while he was still all fired up, he motioned in Joe’s direction and said, “In fact, Joe is ushering in Christmas with the ugly sweaters.”
After Al made this comment, Joe and the rest of the crew chuckled, proving that it was taken as a playful joke and nothing more.
Sheinelle Jones added, “I actually like that sweater.” Quickly backtracking on his playful blow, Al agreed, “It is a nice sweater.” He also went on to compliment Joe on his tie.
