‘Below Deck’ Captain Lee Weighs In On ‘Down Under’ Firings
Below Deck Down Under Season 2 doesn’t have Captain Lee Rosbach at the helm, but he weighed in on the firing of Luke Jones and Laura Bileskalne. If you don’t know, the ugly affair brought waves of reactions from Bravo fans when Laura stood by Luke after he inappropriately entered into the personal space of Margot Sisson.
Below Deck Down Under Incident With Luke
Some people move on from a life of luxury yachting, like Emily Warburton-Adams. She founded a company named POW Food in 2017 and seems to be doing very well for herself off the high seas. There have been people fired from various vessels in the past. Actually, Captain Sandy Yawn seems to have a no-nonsense rep, and crew members regularly end up back on the dockside if they let her down. In fact, some people blame her for Captain Lee losing his own job.
Piping hot tea straight outta the kettle: I have not been to Las Vegas in over three decades. For one night only on November 2nd, I’m bringing my one-man show, Nightcap to @WestgateVegas . I can hardly wait to share cocktails and quality time with some of you. Pre-sale tickets… pic.twitter.com/5Q8TccWiwZ

If you hadn’t heard, Captain Lee is taking a break from the Below Deck franchise but he is still working on other Bravo projects. Actually, he’s very well respected amongst both the cast and viewers. So, people listen when he talks. Recently, he weighed in on the idea of reality TV people joining writers who strike. Fairly, he claimed that Bravo seemed accommodating and always made sure the workers got their breaks and other dues. Now he’s speaking up about the firing of Luke Jones. Captian Jason Chambers fired Luke, and Captain Lee would have probably done the same thing.
Below Deck Down Under – Why Were Luke & Laura Fired?
Laura Bileskalne wasn’t actually part of Luke’s bad behavior. US Weekly reminded readers that Larua defended Luke after he was found in the cabin that Margot Sisson occupied. In fact, he wasn’t invited, wasn’t wanted, and crossed the line with her. Speaking up for his bad behavior didn’t do Laura any favors. In fact, Chief Stew Aesha Scott told the captain that Laura displayed a “lack of boundaries with costar Adam Kodra.”

Captain Lee hasn’t had to fire anyone who overstepped personal boundaries with other crew members. So, he really admired the cool and calm way in which Captain Chambers dealt with the whole ugly incident. He told the outlet, “When there’s the captain you’re responsible for everything and anything that does happen. Jason handled it superbly.”
Captain Lee added, “I don’t know if I would have had the wherewithal to remain as calm as Captain Jason did, but he certainly stepped up to the plate and did it right.”
Tough Decisions
Below Deck fans see from the show that much of the drama comes because the crew and the clients all share life in a small space. It’s hard enough to get by without treading on toes and annoying others, without unwanted sexual advances taking place. Grateful that he didn’t have to deal with it, Captain Lee said, “It’s a tough spot to be in.” Right now, Captain Chambers gets kudos from Bravo fans for the way he dealt with it, and Lee Rosbach totally agrees with that.
