Below Deck featured as clients on Project Runway which aired on August 3 on Bravo and Kate Chastain guest judged the efforts to design new uniforms for the vessel’s crew. Were they good enough for her to consider a return to the Bravo show? Scroll on to find out.

Below Deck: Kate Chastain Has The Cutest Baby

Last year, Bravo fans were shocked to hear that Kate expected a baby and of course, rumors immediately started up as to who the baby daddy might be. Well, she denied that had anything to do with Chef Ben Robinson. Anyway, by May this year, the photos were out, and she’d launched her cute kid for the world to see. Thankfully, Sullivan won’t be kept under wraps, and the single mom decided that she’d share the heck out of her child.

Being a single mom and working on Below Deck don’t go hand in hand, but working as a guest judge for Project Runway, seemed ideal. Of course, Bravo fans know Kate as a long-term member of the crew and she served as a chief stew for six seasons. And, that’s a long time to wear the rather drab and boring tops and skorts that producers insisted on. So, it seems fitting that she should take part in the Project Runway task to design something decent.

Below Deck: Kate Will Consider A Return Because Of Uniform Change?

When E! News shared their first look at Project Runway, the outlet reported, “Kate Chastain is trading in high seas for high fashion as she judges a challenge tasking the season 20 designers with reinventing the Below Deck yachtie uniforms of TK into something more chic and modern.” Well, it seemed like a wonderful cross-over, and fans of both shows were delighted.

The Below Deck alum watched as the designers competed to produce uniforms for Captain Lee, Sandy Yawn, Jason Chambers, and more. Gary King and Mzi Dempers were there, as was Colin MacRae, and others. But the designers had a hard task. They could only use black and white, and those epaulets were there to stay.  Still, they managed to impress Kate to the point that she claimed, “The winning look was so cool and stylish it was almost enough for me to be like, ‘If that’s the uniform I would so [come] back.”

No Expert On Design

The Below Deck alum might not be an expert when it comes to designing uniforms, but Kate Chastain had the intelligence to take note of what the experts were saying. One design was not for her until she heard the reason why it was actually awesome. Was it enough to get Kate to sign up for the next charter? Not quite, but it certainly sounds like the first time mom had some fun thinking about it.
