The impact of living with this disease can make achieving anything feel impossible. Eventually, Captain Sandy got her life on track and became a beloved member of the yachting community. Yawn has been adorned with many titles. She received a Distinguished Crew Award from the International Superyacht Society. This award is considered a prestigious marker, which makes it all the more special.
A Different Kind Of Sister Act
Additionally, Both sisters have left their mark on their communities in many ways. Michelle Dunham, Yawn’s sister, is the founder of the Jacksonville School for Autism. She developed this program based on the model she used to teach her own son, Nicholas, who is autistic. Her hope was to provide the best education for all students with autism. Dunham and Yawn joined a long line of Godmothers as they take on this title. They join Malala Yousafzai (Celebrity Edge), olympian Simone Biles (Celebrity Beyond), and the founder of Girls Who Code, Reshma Saujani.

The Fearless Leader At The Helm
Yawn took over for Captain Lee Rosbach, also known as the “Stud of the Seas” on Below Deck. Captain Rosbach was diagnosed with complex health issues. As expected, Yawn took her role to heart. By the time Captain Rosbach returned to the helm of the ship, she had taken disciplinary action on multiple crew members and even had to fire some. Yawn is known for her stern teaching methods. But she talks about her playful side, and how her heart of hearts lies in the body of a big kid. While fans don’t usually get to see that side of her, they can count on Yawn to be an excellent captain. And they can definitely count on her to deliver the juicy drama that makes Below Deck so entertaining
The Celebrity Ascent is scheduled to be christened on December 1st. Both Yawn and Dunham will attend the ceremony, which will host 3,260 passengers.
