Lisa Rinna Calls On Bravo Reality TV Stars To Boycott BravoCon
Lisa Rinna has called on Bravo reality TV stars to boycott the upcoming BravoCon fan festival. This comes hot on the heels of Bethenny Frankel asking reality TV stars to stand in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA strike and also demand better wages for themselves as well.
Here is what Rinna said and what Frankel wants reality stars to do.
Lisa Rinna wants Bravo stars to go on strike
Lisa Rinna has called out for her fellow Bravo reality TV stars to boycott the upcoming fan convention, BravoCon. According to Rinna, she wants every member of a Bravo show who is part of SAG-AFTRA to boycott the event. This could be huge when it comes to the reality TV world.
One thing that normally happens when the WGA or SAG-AFTRA unions go on strike is that reality TV becomes even more popular. That is because reality TV is mostly unscripted. While there are plenty of scripted moments in reality TV, it is not written by a writer and is often just suggested by a producer or edited to look more dramatic than it really was. However, Rinna is speaking out on something else.
There are plenty of Bravo TV show celebrities who are members of SAG-AFTRA, and while their contracts don’t allow them to strike against the reality TV shows (which are under a different deal), that does not mean they have to take this standing still. Rinna mentioned they could refuse to attend BravoCon, which could cost the network a lot of money.
In an Instagram Live message, Lisa wrote that every SAG-AFTRA member on a Bravo show should boycott the event. She said this is one way to make the network take them seriously and pay them what they deserve. She also said they should also start a reality show union.
Bethenny Frankel arguing for reality TV union
A reality show union was something that Bethenny Frankel suggested. According to the former Real Housewives of New York Star, Hollywood went on strike to get fair pay and she didn’t understand why reality TV stars should receive different treatment. She said she has helped generate millions of dollars for reality TV networks and never got any residuals. “Either I’m missing something or we’re getting screwed too.”
Frankel said reality TV provided all the entertainment in the last WGA strike from 2007 to 2008, and they have nothing to show for it. She pointed out that people can still watch past seasons of The Bachelor and the people who made it popular get nothing for it. She then called for reality TV stars to unionize to “simply be treated fairly and valued.”

Like she/they don’t make enough money already?? I guess they need a couple of more houses, cars and maybe yachts?
Perhaps Rinna and Bethanny do not like someone who is on the show. Since they are not union members, they can be fired if they strike. People are sometimes let go on reality TV simply because they are deemed boring. If they give producers a reason they are gone. The reality stars make a lot of money for a short season, they don’t have to memorize lines, and there are other perks as well.
To most people, who don’t make a tenth of what they are making this is just career suicide.
