Randy Meisner, who helped co-found the legendary band, Eagles, has passed away at the age of 77. This is another blow to the music industry as Tony Bennett just passed away on July 21st. He was 96 so clearly there was an age difference but fans are now mourning two icons that have shaped music forever. What exactly happened? Read on for more details.

Per TMZ, Randy Meisner passed away Wednesday, July 26th at the age of 77. According to his former bandmates, the cause of death was issues from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He had played both bass and sang for the Eagles as well as wrote some of the band’s biggest hits ever. One of the most infamous songs that he co-wrote was “Take It To The Night” and was a major contributor to Hotel California. Other members of the band included Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Bernie Leadon.

Back in 1998, Randy Meisner and his bandmates celebrated their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His legacy by the band will be “an integral part of the Eagles and instrumental in the early success of the band.” Sadly, he had not been seen on camera for eight years. There were also myths that he had to debunk about his wife and why he ended up leaving the band. Of course, fans are already flocking to social media to celebrate his life cut short.

The tributes came in from everywhere and they are not stopping. Additionally, fans are talking about their favorite songs of his and what made him so memorable to him.
