When internet users logged in to Twitter late Tuesday and early Wednesday, they may have been greeted by the trending search, “RIP Harvey.” That led to a scramble among fans who immediately began arguing about which Harvey could possibly have passed. Some immediately thought of The Steve Harvey Show and Family Feud host Steve Harvey. Others thought that perhaps disgraced Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein had passed. Originally, the hashtag was shared by Kentucky radio station KSR listeners. A long-time caller to the KSR station named Harvey Doyle passed away. And the radio station wrote a tribute, calling him a “great KSR caller.” Station host Matt Jones posted the news, adding that they will talk more about it the next day. He said it is “terrible news” that makes him “very sad.” Listeners of the radio show responded with sweet “RipHarvey” hashtags, paying tribute to the devoted KSR listener. Matt later re-tweeted Steve Harvey‘s reaction in amazement, having never expected the tribute to reach so far.
