Fans on a DWTS Reddit page are jumping to conclusions a little early in regards to the newly announced Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner joining an upcoming season. Speculation began when a particular choice of words was used in a promo on the official DWTS Instagram page.
The caption read, “Ready to paint the dance floor gold. Meet Gerry, #TheGoldenBachelor, coming to ABC this fall, and stream on Hulu. @goldenbachabc.”
There were many fans who were on board with the idea and immediately believed this meant Gerry would be joining the cast. One fan even noted that there is always someone from The Bachelor franchise on the show. Some think it will come down to a tossup between current Bachelorette Charity Lawson or Gerry Turner.
However, others are skeptical and think it was just their word choice since the new spin-off was being promoted on the DWTS Instagram. All about The Golden Bachelor
Gerry Turner was announced as the premiere lead for The Golden Bachelor which will premiere this fall. The show will air on Monday nights following DWTS. Plus, it will only be one-hour episodes versus the normal two-hour time slot.
The 71-year-old widower lost his wife in 2017 just six weeks after she retired. Now that time has passed, he is ready to find love again. His two daughters want to see him happy and are the ones who encouraged him to apply for the role.
Gerry is still very active and enjoys golf and pickleball. He also often entertains guests by having a bbq at his dream home located on a lake in Indiana. He’s hoping to find a woman who loves to do the same things he does such as perhaps playing a game of pickleball or golf.
So far fans have been receptive to Gerry and are excited to watch his journey unfold. Filming will reportedly begin this week for his season of the show. So far the women have not been announced.
