Is Matt James’ mother Patty joining The Golden Bachelor?
Page Six shared information that indicates Patty James could be one of the lucky women to compete in the debut season of The Golden Bachelor. Patty gained attention from Bachelor Nation when her son Matt James was cast as the first black Bachelor. He found love on the show with Rachael Kirkconnell.
Matt and Rachael started their relationship off with a rough patch after she was under scrutiny for a past racist photo shared on social media. They patched things up and have been together ever since. However, there are rumors flying that there could be relationship issues between Matt and Rachael currently.
As for Matt’s mom, she is single and according to the report in talks to be on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelor. A source for the show told Page Six, “Matt’s mom Patty is speaking with producers about competing on the new season.”
It has not been disclosed yet if a deal has been reached for Patty to compete on the show. So far neither Patty nor Matt have commented on the possibility of her joining the show.
What is The Golden Bachelor?
The Golden Bachelor is a spinoff of The Bachelor in which seniors will be looking for love. Producers have been looking to cast contestants who are 65 years old or older. The first lead has yet to be announced.
This spinoff will bring lifelong experience to the table and create an all-new journey for older contestants to find love again. The official synopsis for the show says, “A hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life. The women arriving at the mansion have a lifetime of experience, living through love, loss and laughter, hoping for a spark that ignites a future full of endless possibilities. In the end, will our Golden man turn the page to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams?”
The network already announced The Golden Bachelor will air Monday nights this fall on ABC. Plus, Bachelor in Paradise will also be airing this fall on Tuesday nights on ABC.
