Kody Brown’s Son Cuts Deep ‘Don’t Need Father Figure Anymore’
Some of Kody Brown‘s children don’t believe they need a father figure any longer.
Over the years, Sister Wives fans have noticed that the family patriarch tends to alienate most of his kids. In fact, he doesn’t seem to have a strong bond with any of the children except for the five that he shares with Robyn.
Both onscreen and behind the scenes, the Brown family children have expressed frustration with their father. The COVID-19 distancing rules definitely didn’t help the situation.
As the Season 18 premiere date looms, fans expect to see more of the family fallout happen onscreen. And in the newest trailer, one son boldly declares that he doesn’t need a father figure anymore.
Kody Brown’s kids refuse to beg for their dad’s attention
The COVID-19 pandemic was rough on everyone all over the world. But as for the Brown family, it was one of the driving factors in the family’s breakdown.
Kody chose to self-isolate with Robyn and her children because they allegedly were the only ones willing to follow the rules. And as many Sister Wives fans guessed, their attitude didn’t sit well with the rest of the family.
In the new Sister Wives Season 18 trailer, fans saw some of the kids take a stand against their dad’s neglectful behavior.
This year, the kids are standing up for themselves and refusing to beg for their dad’s attention. He’s clearly made his choice.
“You know what Robyn? Have him,” Garrison Brown says during a family meeting. “We’re all grown adults that don’t need a father figure anymore.”
It’s unclear who exactly was at the meeting. Only Garrison, Janelle, Gabe, Christine, and Gwendlyn are present in the clips. Gabe looks a little uncomfortable during Garrison’s declaration while Gwendlyn nods her head in agreement.
Cutting out a family member is never easy, but it’s clear that Kody’s children have had enough. They see he would rather spend his time with Robyn.
The family patriarch shirks his family responsibilities
Few Sister Wives fans can forget how Gabe Brown broke down in tears during Season 17. Kody forgot his birthday and all the teenager wanted was a kind message from his dad. Fortunately, Janelle picked up the slack and is doing her best to be a great single mother.
Even though Janelle’s kids are adults now, she’s always going to stand by them. And despite the family break up, Christine seems more than willing to grow her relationship with Janelle’s kids too. Kody might be shirking his responsibilities to the rest of the family, but the adult kids aren’t alone.
