Morgan Freeman, 86, Taken Out By Nasty Contagion
According to The Daily Mail, 86-year-old Morgan Freeman was taken out of commission by a nasty contagion that forced him to miss his recent UK press tour. The actor had plans to jet across the pond to the UK to participate in a press tour for his new spy thriller called Special Ops: Lioness. He was slated to tour alongside his co-stars Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana.
The actor made the difficult decision not to jet across the pond after getting taken out by a fever. Doctors later determined Morgan Freeman had actually contracted a nasty contagious infection. Sadly, this meant traveling to the UK for the press tour just wasn’t in the cards as it wouldn’t be safe for him to interact with the press or his co-stars.

His co-stars attended a screening of Special Ops: Lioness yesterday without Morgan Freeman. Likewise, Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana also made an appearance on The One Show hosted by Alex Jones who was “gutted” that Morgan Freeman had to miss out.
Representatives of the actor, however, have reassured Daily Mail that Morgan Freeman is doing much better. Here’s the official statement issued by his rep: “Morgan has a fever and his doctor felt he had a contagious infection, so he canceled his trip. He is fine now.”
He’s Also Struggling With Fibromyalgia
Morgan Freeman has also been struggling with fibromyalgia since back in 2008 when he was in a near-fatal car crash. The accident caused the actor nerve damage to his left hand. Despite having surgeries in an attempt to repair the damage, Morgan has been left with a chronic illness and agonizing pain as a result of the accident.
Those looking forward to checking out Morgan Freeman and his co-stars in Special Ops: Lioness won’t have to wait too much longer as the series is scheduled to drop into the Paramount+ library on July 23rd.
