‘Hoffman Family Gold’ Season 2, Episode 4: Todd Loses It With Hunter

What else do we know about Hoffman Family Gold Season 2, Episode 4, entitled “Rock Blocked”? According to Rotten Tomatoes, things get pretty dicey on the dueling father and son mining claims in the Discovery series.
As Todd’s Holy Roller plant runs non-stop, Hunter’s Black Pearl plant is finally ready to wash dirt. The mine is shut down when Hunter’s plant blocks access to rocks from Todd’s tailings. An epic showdown puts the season in jeopardy.
What sorts of issues could make this mercurial relationship even worse? Sounds like name-calling is at the root of the problem.
Hunter Hoffman Calls Todd The ‘L-Word’ In New Hoffman Family Gold Episode
Todd Hoffman has been open to allowing his son Hunter to mine his own claim in Hoffman Family Gold Season 2. However, there are some issues between the father and son. Hunter is insistent that he is ready to mine on his own. Meanwhile, Todd is micromanaging his son.
Despite Hunter’s insistence that he has 10 years of mining experience, he doesn’t seem to have convinced Hoffman crew regulars Jim Thurber or Andy Spinks of his mining expertise. He isn’t exactly the second coming of Parker Schnabel. Worse of all, he has been disrespectful of his father. Hunter calls Todd “a liar.” This makes Todd explode!
Turns out, calling Todd Hoffman “a liar” is fighting words. He declares that “there might be a lot of things that I am but I am not a liar. Don’t ever call me a liar because I’ll fight you right out here!”
From the first episode of Season 2, there have been tensions in the mine. There is a lot of money on the line, and they need to find a lot of gold. Moreover, the Alaska weather is not forgiving with dumb delays. The mining season is short. Can the Hoffman family find a way to work apart, but act as a unit?
