‘Claim To Fame’: Who Is Monay Related To?
Many of the Season 2 Claim To Fame cast have been figured out one way or another. Yet, there are a few that are still head-scratchers, one of them being Monay. No one can quite put their finger on who her celebrity relative is, until now. So, who is she related to? Read on for the details.
Claim To Fame: Who Is Monay Related To?
When Carly Reeves was sent home during week one, she was livid. She felt that the Claim To Fame Clues were far too obvious and that there was no way she would not be figured out. In the end, it was Hugo who sealed her fate and revealed that she was Tom Hanks’ niece. Carly immediately broke down and had a fit throughout the house. She felt betrayed, shattered, and as if she did not get enough camera time. Yet, there were other cast members who gave themselves away fairly easily or were easy enough to figure out. That is, except Monay.
Now, it seems that her lineage has finally been exposed. According to stylecaster, she is related to JB Smoove. How? Monay is the actor/comedian’s daughter. More so, the reason why she may be throwing some people off is that Monay is part of her stage name. Her actual name is Jerrica Brooks. So, how has it been discovered that he is her father? Apparently, two years back, he sent her a heartfelt Instagram tribute. JB started with a young picture of Monay and then slid to a grown snap of her.

He had an adorable caption about how proud he was of how hard-working she was but how he could still remember her as his little girl. JB seemed genuinely proud of Monay and what she had accomplished thus far. It would be quite interesting to see what his reaction is to her going for 100K in this competition. More so, can she stay under the radar and keep herself hidden as JB Smoove’s offspring?
The Latest Castoff
In episode one, Carly Reeves was sent home. This week on Claim To Fame, Travis was discovered to be Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s son. This was floated around a little bit in the premiere but slightly brushed to the side. However, he had many characteristics and smarts of his father that he was definitely a target. The only one, aside from Monay, that could last in this game without being found out, is Jane. Only time with tell.
