On YouTube this week, Travis and Katie shared a new video in which they took on an “agree to disagree” challenge. After the video premiered, the couple began receiving negative comments about several red flags in Travis’ responses. On Reddit, fans are discussing how they feel about Travis and how he responded to the challenge.
One Bringing Up Bates fan admitted that they spotted “so many red flags.” They explained that they didn’t like Travis mentioning the fact that he was considering divorce early in their marriage. The fan also pointed out that he didn’t seem ashamed and willingly admitted all of this publicly.
Also in the video, Travis made it seem like flirting for attention was okay and that he felt like he got married too young. One of their viewers said, “He was honestly kinda unhinged in this video and I would’ve been so embarrassed if I was her. I really, really feel for Katie.”
Travis Clark fights back against the haters.
After reading through the negative comments, Travis attempted to silence the haters. He issued a statement to Bringing Up Bates fans and critics, pointing out that this was meant to be a fun, lighthearted video. He felt that the video was likely taken out of context because it was originally an hour long and they edited it down to 20 minutes.
Then, Katie’s husband confirmed that they both think that “cheating is wrong 100% of the time.”
Also in his statement, he seemed to backtrack on the topic of considering divorce. He wrote, “I, Travis, have never ever seriously considered divorce and never will.”
The Bringing Up Bates star urged his followers not to judge him and Katie based on this video alone. He also promised that they are very happy together with their little one, Hailey.
