As we’ve reported, Jill made an appearance in the new docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets. The docuseries, which debuted earlier this month, gave a peek into the former TLC stars’ religion and some of the harmful practices they follow.
Around the same time, Jill revealed that she has written a tell-all book, Counting the Cost. Between the series and the book, she’s exposing her family and some controversial details. She claims to still love her parents. But she does seem to be interested in telling the truth about them.
Now, it’s possible that a family member is calling her out publicly. What happened?

On Father’s Day, James Duggar shared a new Instagram post about his dad, Jim Bob. In the comments section of the post, some fans questioned James’ support of his father, and others brought attention to Jim Bob’s wrongdoings over the years.
In a comment, Hilary Spivey, Justin Duggar’s mother-in-law, fought back. She got snappy with a fan that mentioned Josh’s molestation scandal. In response, Hilary said, “Why would you believe Jill and not James? If James interviewed with Amazon and wrote a book would you believe him?”
On Reddit, critics and fans reposted a screenshot of Hilary’s comment. And they feel that this is a sign that Hilary doesn’t believe Jill. One Reddit user asked if Hilary is “implying Jill is a liar.” Another said, “I mean, I don’t think she is implying that Jill is a liar, I think she flat-out stated it.”
Others are pointing out the importance of believing victims, including Jill, because they are the ones that lived through the traumatic events, including the molestations. One Reddit user added some insight into Hilary’s stance and said, “Anyone who doesn’t fit in their story or dares to tell the truth about IBLP is a liar.”
