The time has finally arrived — Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets is now available for streaming. How can you stream this documentary centered on reality TV’s favorite mega-families such as TLC’s Duggar family? And, what should you expect from it? Keep reading for all of the exciting details.
Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets Now Streaming
Duggar fans and followers have been chewing their nails waiting for Amazon Prime Video’s documentary to drop. Fans of the former TLC family were under the impression Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets would drop into Amazon’s streaming library after midnight on June 2 (tonight — in just a few hours). Fans, however, were pleasantly surprised when the documentary dropped into the streaming library a few hours later.
Presently, the documentary is four episodes long and all four episodes are available for streaming via Amazon Prime. The first episode titled “Meet the Duggars” is 45 minutes long. The second episode titled “Growing up Gothard” is 51 minutes long. “Under Authority,” the third episode, is 47 minutes long. And, the fourth episode “Arrows Activated” is 36 minutes long.
Here is the official synopsis for the documentary series as a whole: “A limited docuseries exposing the truth beneath the wholesome Americana surface of reality tv’s favorite mega-family, The Duggars, and the radical organization behind them: The Institute in Basic Life Principles. As details of the family and their scandals unfold, we realize they’re part of an insidious, much larger threat already in motion, with democracy itself in peril.”
Michelle And Jim Bob Duggar Addressed The Release
Minutes after Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets become available for streaming via Amazon Prime, Jim Bob Duggar and his wife Michelle took to their family blog to address the documentary. They, however, placed the word “documentary” in quotes indicating they hardly thought the series was being properly labeled.
As Tv Shows Ace previously reported, Michelle and Jim Bob find the documentary series to be “sad” and “derogatory” with the “ill intentions” of hurting the family simply because they live life in the public eye.
Jim Bob and Michelle also wanted fans to know that this documentary being released would NOT break their family. The duo insisted they maintain healthy relationships with each member of their family. Within their statement, they also promised to continue to work every day on maintaining good relationships with every single person under the Duggar family tree.
Duggar fans can only assume Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar were referring to Jill Dillard toward the end of their statement.
