The shocking injury came on the air as the contestant celebrated his win. The contestant’s wife was forced to step in for him after everything went wrong.

Congratulations! The Price Is Right Contestant Wins Trip To The Emergency Room

Contestants who win big on The Price is Right can take home a wide variety of prizes.

It might be something as small as an Apple Watch, or a power drill. Or it might be a pontoon boat or a mini-van.

If you’re really lucky, you can bring home an RV or an all-inclusive trip around the world.

But one contestant won something unexpected, and entirely unpleasant. He won a trip to the emergency room. Well, not officially.

In a video shared on the show’s official Instagram page, a contestant named Henry celebrated a big win.

Henry jumped up and down, punching the air in excitement. That’s all it took to cause a shoulder dislocation.

Henry’s Wife Steps In On The Price Is Right

Drew Carey, the host of The Price is Right, revealed Henry’s injury when it came time to spin the big wheel for the showcase showdown.

Carey explained, “Henry was celebrating and going ‘Woo’ and he dislocated his shoulder.”

Luckily, Henry’s wife was in the audience. She stepped in, and the show allowed her to spin the wheel for Henry. Henry stood next to his wife, holding his shoulder tenderly and looking more than a little chagrined.

And it must have been his lucky day after all because Henry’s partner spun a $0.95, which advanced them to the showcase showdown. Despite the injury, things improved for Henry in the showcase. Henry took home a Hawaiian vacation in the end.

The social media managers of The Price is Right‘s Instagram page had some fun with Henry’s injury. They posted that Henry won a trip to both Hawaii and the ER in one fell swoop. They added, “Henry is feeling better and [is] all healed now!”

Henry Isn’t The First The Price Is Right Injury

Even though the happy-go-lucky show is more known for big scores than big injuries, there have been some people with more than hurt feelings on the show.

In 2014, for instance, contestant Judy injured her ankle while spinning the big wheel. She finished the showcase showdown on crutches.

And in 2018, somersaulting contestant Fernando fell face-first on the ground after losing his chance to make it to the showcase showdown.

Host of the show Drew Carey has also suffered his share of bruises and lacerations while on The Price is Right. Overzealous contestants often hug and leap at the host, knocking him around. It’s a far cry from the hands-off days of Bob Barker as host. Hopefully, Drew has a good insurance plan.
