Matt Roloff Mourns Tragic Death On Father’s Day
Father’s Day of 2023 is a really somber one for Matt Roloff as he mourns the tragic death of his own father, Ron Roloff. As Tv Shows Ace previously reported, Matt Roloff’s father Ron was confirmed dead in August of last year. The TLC personality took to Instagram to break the tragic news and explain that was why he hadn’t been seen much on social media since the Season Finale of Little People, Big World aired.
He penned in his post at the time when he announced his father’s passing: “A Sad week for the Roloff Family.. my dad… affectionately known as ‘papa’ to his 10 grandchildren and his 10 great grandkids peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior yesterday evening.”
Unsurprisingly, today was an especially difficult day for the reality TV star as it was his very first Father’s Day without having a father to call or visit. Mourning the loss of his father all over again, he took to Instagram to share a few photos of Ron Roloff and pay tribute to him.

Matt Roloff Mourns Tragic Death On Father’s Day
The LPBW star tells his followers that he remembers calling his father on the phone a year ago to tell him happy Father’s Day. He even remembers some of the conversations that they had. From what Matt Roloff could tell, his father was in “terrific health” and had a very positive outlook on life. This was also around the time when his parents had just moved to Arizona. They downsized and were looking to live a simple life. At the time, Matt had no idea that would be his last Father’s Day with Ron.
“He took ill suddenly and passed away within a short 6 week period. I was able to be with him for much of that time up until the day he peacefully passed away to be with his Lord.”
His tribute continued: “That’s how I remember my father .. things weren’t always perfect and the chips didn’t always fall the way either of us had hoped and dreamed but he led a great life. He was a wonderful husband to my mother and father to me and my brothers and Sister Go hug your father!”

Matt Roloff concluded his emotional Father’s Day post by encouraging his Instagram followers to find time to hug their father because they could never know when the last time was going to really be the last time.
