Mal Wright and Yoly Rojas originally left the final episode with Yoly accepting Mal’s proposal. Mal said she always knew she wanted to marry Yoly. She was only waiting for the right time. Mal just wanted to be sure it was really her that Yoly wanted, and not just to be married. Unfortunately, within two weeks of the finale, they’d broken up. They are still friends but their romantic relationship is over.
Xander Broger came onto The Ultimatum: Queer Love with her best friend and partner, Vanessa Papas. Xander wanted to get married but Vanessa was terrified of losing her freedom. After spending her trial marriage with Rae, Vanessa came back to Xander with a change of heart and a promise to work on it. Xander originally agreed to try but they were already in love with Yoly and they’d seen a different vision for their future. Ultimately, Xander and Vanessa didn’t last and they are no longer talking to each other.
Lexi Goldberg and Raelyn Cheung-Sutton had their challenges on the show but by the finale, the two were together. Rae seemed to really want to work on their relationship. Unfortunately, after the shenanigans in the dark between Rae and Vanessa, Lexi couldn’t get past it and ultimately, the two have not stayed together.
At the finale of The Ultimatum: Queer Love, it was painfully obvious that Tiff Derr and Mildred Woody wouldn’t stay together. Many who watched the show probably hoped they wouldn’t anyway. In the finale, Tiff walked out in mid-conversation with Mildred! Since then, they have not been in communication and Tiff is dating other people.
What About Sam and Aussie?
If anyone was placing bets on Sam Mark and Aussie Chau being the one couple to make it to a wedding, they are likely counting their pennies now! The wedding hasn’t taken place but they are engaged and they are making plans for their big day.
Aussie popped the question in the finale of The Ultimatum: Queer Love and Sam accepted her proposal.
The couple have their own issues, as most couples do. So, what made them last while others broke up? It’s possible that Sam and Aussie just have the commitment required to keep a relationship going. Aussie, the one with the communication issues, has recognized that they need to work on them. Sam is patient and is willing to give Aussie the support they need.
As Sam said in Netflix Life, a wedding is a big commitment but the work they are doing together now is, “so much more of a commitment than just having a wedding. It seems like some of them just couldn’t make it work.
