‘Full House:’ John Stamos Clears Air On Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen
Full House star John Stamos is clearing the air and speaking his truth about his real feelings for the Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley. Is the 59-year-old in some sort of weird feud with the twins? Was he angry at them for not returning to TV for the Fuller House reboot? Making an appearance on Glee star’s Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang) podcast called And That’s What You REALLY Missed, John Stamos is finally clearing the air.
Full House: John Stamos Clears Air On Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen
On the podcast, John Stamos fesses up to the fact that he was frustrated Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen refused to be part of the Fuller House reboot. He, however, also wanted it to be known that he was not still in a bad place with the Olsen twins and all was well between them. Speaking to the Glee stars he affirms he was “angry” the twins wouldn’t reprise their role of Michelle.
Unfortunately, John Stamos also reveals that the OG Full House cast didn’t make much of an effort to stay in touch with the twins after the show came to an end. He clarified the one exception was Bob Saget who seemingly did what he could to remain close to the entire cast. The distance between the twins and the vast majority of the OG cast likely made it easier for them to decline to return for the reboot.
When I did ‘Fuller House,’ they didn’t want to come back and I was angry for a minute, and that got out
Sadly, John Stamos goes on to explain that because Ashley and Mary-Kate declined to be part of the reboot and news broke that he was angry with him, a story grew legs that the girls had a miserable childhood on the show. He, however, wanted it to be known that all the nasty stories swirling about how unhappy they were on the show were far from the truth.
According to TMZ, fans have learned that John Stamos likely could have gotten the Olsen twins to come back for the reboot if he had approached them of his own accord and talked to them about it personally. He, however, did not take that approach.
When things went down, Mary-Kate Olsen was allegedly interested in coming back for the reboot and planned to try and talk Ashley into doing it with her. The twins, however, claim they never received an official invite to be part of the show.
