‘Full House’ Star Jodie Sweetin Slammed To Concrete During Protest

Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin enjoyed a lot of success as a child actor. And as an adult, she’s still incredibly ambitious and dedicates her time and resources to causes she believes in.

That’s why she was ready to pick up a sign and march when the U.S. Supreme Court announced they would overturn Roe v. Wade. Most protestors know that there is a risk of injury. But Jodie Sweetin got a little more than she bargained for during a recent protest.

LAPD shoved Jodie Sweetin in the middle of a protest for women’s rights

Several months after Bob Saget’s death, another Full House alum is in making headlines. Jodie Sweetin played Bob Saget’s onscreen daughter for years. But now, she’s an adult with a voice. She wants to use her platform for change.

According to TMZ, the 40-year-old actress joined other protestors in Los Angeles to speak out against the Supreme Court’s choice to overturn Roe v. Wade. However, the Los Angeles Police Department got involved.

TMZ reports that the LAPD blocked the protestors’ path. Jodie Sweetin reportedly got a little too close to the authorities. They shoved her backward into the crowd, causing her to trip over the curb. The Full House actress crashed to the ground.

Fortunately, it seems that Jodie was unharmed.

“I’m extremely proud of the hundreds of people who showed up yesterday to exercise their First Amendment rights and take immediate action to peacefully protest the giant injustices that have been delivered from our Supreme Court,” she said in an official statement to TMZ. “Our activism will continue until our voices are heard and action is taken. This will not deter us, we will continue fighting for our rights. We are not free until ALL of us are free.”

The publication also reported they requested a word from the LAPD, but had no luck.

The incident was all captured on video by photographer Michael Ade and can be viewed here. Many people have seen the viral video at this point and applaud Jodie Sweetin for standing up for women’s rights.

“That’s my friend @JodieSweetin – who many of you know from Full House – being assaulted by the LAPD. Jodie was literally trying to lead people OFF of the freeway,” journalist Shaun King wrote on Instagram.  ⁣”I’m appreciative of Jodie because she’s been standing up for civil rights and human rights and now women’s rights.” ⁣

“It pained me to see @JodieSweetin thrown to the ground by members of the LAPD as she was trying to lead a group of peaceful protestors away from the freeway…SMH,” King continued. “@LAPDHQ what are y’all doing?⁣ Jodi is the definition of a real one and fortunately she’s okay! But for others who choose to protest today move with caution and keep your head on swivel. It’s going to be a very long summer.🙏🏾⁣”

Many others in the comments echoed similar sentiments. Everyone is glad that Jodie is okay, but are so proud of her for taking a stand and marching.
