‘General Hospital’ Kin Shriner OUT As Scotty Baldwin, Why?
Bad news for General Hospital fans this morning as Kin Shriner appears to be being written out of the show as Scotty Baldwin.
This shocking news came out of the left field as most viewers didn’t have this dramatic casting shift anywhere on their bingo card of possibilities. She Knows Soaps admits the bombshell caused the outlet to do a double take as they checked to make sure it wasn’t April Fool’s Day.
Unfortunately, it appears as if this disappointing casting news is very much true as Kin Shriner himself confirmed and said goodbye to General Hospital fans via his social media profile.

General Hospital: Kin Shriner exits as Scotty gets written out
“I just found out Scotty was written out,” the General Hospital actor penned in a tweet on his profile late last night. The actor proceeded to thank fans of the soap opera series for supporting him over the years.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, General Hospital fans are having a hard time coping with losing both Kin Shriner AND Scotty. In response to his tweet, some fans admit they just can’t believe it. Others have already started to petition the writers of General Hospital to find a way to keep Scotty around.

Likewise, there are some fans who speculate his leave might be temporary due to the WGA strike and that viewers could see him return in the near future.
Part of the reason why this news is so heartbreaking for General Hospital is that it is following on the heels of news that Jacklyn Zeman passed away. Likewise, it has been a busy week for General Hospital news as Haley Pullos was also temporarily replaced. Originally, it was reported she stepped away from the show to recover from a car accident. It, however, was later learned that she was arrested following the car accident for being under the influence while driving.

I remember when Scott was a kid…I hope this is just as a result of the strike. Seems like the GH writers have gone downhill…stupid storylines. I have been watching since 1969 when the shows were 15 minutes long. Please do not let him go…we have lost too many main characters.
This is terrible, if he leaves for awhile he can be written back in. He ill be so missed, makes everything so interesting

It’s always nice to see the veteran actors on GH episodes. They are all great actors!! Too bad Scott is leaving. gH nana lost some great cast members recently.
I really can’t believe gh is writing Scotty Baldwin out! Kin Shriner has been there from the beginning basically. I am really not very happy with the writers lately. I really do not like or agree with how they are writing Nina Reeves storyline. Half of that crap the Nina we know wouldn’t have done. I love the actress Cynthia Waitrose a lot and feel they are not being fair or doing her justice. If you really look at everyone’s past Nina would be the safest out of most of them to be in her grand kids lives. I know it’s a SOAP but this is ridiculous. I love Nina with Sonny as well. I think when Maurice Bernard retires from gh I will do the same.

This show is already on the downward spiral unfortunately. Letting Steve Burton and Ingo leave over a stupid vaccine. Now they are going to lose Scotty too? It will all be ending soon.
Yes!!! Keep Scotty on the show. He has such history with Laura and he will need to be there to mourn Bobbie. And, yes, bring back Serena.
They need to keep our veteran cast members! I’m bummed to hear Scotty has been written out of the show. Hoping they bring him back soon and reunite him with Leisel! I liked them together.
Sorry, but since watching since the 1960’s, I liked him, but he didn’t have much of a story anymore.
I still don’t know why they actually let him go.
