Michael Halterman’s Living Situation Leaked Amid Custody Battle
1000-Lb. Sisters fans have had some pretty big questions regarding what Amy and Michael Halterman’s living situation looked like amid their ongoing divorce. Fans were a bit perplexed when reports claimed it was Amy Halterman that packed up the children and left their family home in Kentucky. Did that mean Michael was left with the house? Many fans argued that if that was really how things played out, Amy should have kicked Michael out so she had room for her and the boys.
TLC plans to film the divorce
Unfortunately, neither Michael nor Amy has had much to say about the divorce. Fans have learned this is because TLC plans to make the next season of the series all about the end of this relationship. So, fans can only assume the couple is locked under a pretty tight gag order not to give anything away before the new season.
Source leaks Michael Halterman’s living situation
According to The Sun, Michael Halterman’s living situation was leaked during his ongoing custody battle with Amy. Turns out, things aren’t very glamorous for the newly single Michael. In fact, he is currently living with his mother. In this custody battle, Michael is fighting for shared custody of his boys Glenn and Gage. While fighting, Michael had to explain what his living situation looked like to the judge.
He’s currently living with his mother, brother, and sister in a three-bedroom house. Unfortunately, the abode is so cramped that Michael is currently crashing on the couch. Michael Halterman explained to the judge that Glenn and Gage sleep in his mother’s room when they come to be with him for the weekend.
Michael Halterman reassured the judge that if work requires him to step out of the house, his mother is happy to step in and take care of her grandchildren. Amy Halterman argues Michael’s current living situation isn’t ideal as it is already cramped. Moreover, Amy questions if the boys are truly safe under Michael’s mother’s care.
Michael’s lawyer, however, argues that weekends function just fine with the boys in the home. So, there is no reason to believe adding additional days would present any sort of problem.
The custody situation isn’t ideal for Michael
Presently, Amy Halterman has the boys during the week and Michael takes them on the weekend. Michael Halterman, however, is unhappy with the situation as they are his children too. He wants full joint custody and he wants an even split on how often they have the boys during a month.
While an even split might work now, that type of setup could become more complicated when the boys start going to school unless Michael and Amy live close enough that the boys can go to the same school while living in two different places.
