Kardashians snag MTV Award: Best Docu-Reality Show

As fans of the MTV Awards know, a live show was canceled last minute largely due to the writer strike. Drew Barrymore was originally graced with the honor of being the show of the awards show. She, however, pulled out last minute in support of the writers that were currently on strike. As a result, the network pulled the plug on airing a live show.

As those who have been following the news also know, the Kardashian-Jenner family got nominated for an MTV Award for best docu-reality series. When news broke The Kardashians received the nomination, and a large chunk of the Internet was surprised.

Many questioned “How did this happen” as they didn’t think the show was good enough to get nominated. Several fans even predicted The Kardashians would go on to win the award even though they hardly deserved the nominations. Most were seemingly in agreement that Season 2 of the series was boring and didn’t deserve to win an award.

Predictions were right, The Kardashians ended up snagging the award for best docu-reality series. Fans thought this win served as proof the award ceremony was fixed and awards were not going to the most deserving.

Proud beauty mogul Kim Kardashian didn’t waste any time taking to Twitter to thank fans of her family for their support as their family snagged the MTV award. While many fans praised her in response to the tweet, other’s felt like she was bragging and rubbing the win in everyone’s faces. One fan noted that a showrunner of The Kardashians is also a showrunner for a number of MTV shows. And, that is how the family snagged the award.
