Jessica Shannon is leaking a major Mama June: Family Crisis spoiler. The new season began Friday night and, for the first time in a while, Jessica no longer lived with Pumpkin. Instead, she had her own place and was doing her own thing. However, Pumpkin found it strange that they never really saw one another. Or, that Pumpkin was not invited over to Jessica’s new home. It seemed like Jessica was hiding something but said she would share it when she was good and ready. Did Pumpkin actually know what was going on with her sister but kept up a facade for the show? When the new episode began, Pumpkin already had her twins. By then, they were around four months old so that would make it September. This aligned perfectly as Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson was celebrating being a senior. When Pumpkin wanted to see her older sister, Jessica Shannon, she decided to just pop on over. This forced Jessica to have to hide photos and such that were on display in her home. Pumpkin’s husband Josh she was could be seeing someone while Pumpkin teased that maybe Jessica’s roomie could introduce her to someone.

However, by this time, Jessica Shannon’s family knew perfectly well that she had a girlfriend. She had first shown her lady, Shyann McCant off on Memorial Day 2022 on Instagram. Then, she officially debuted her in public in August. Therefore, a few months before Jessica worrying about telling her family about her girlfriend even became a storyline, they already knew. So, spoiler alert. It only proves how staged the show really is. When Pumpkin was acting as if she had no idea what Jessica was up to, that was a lie.

Additionally, when she wanted her sister to be set up with someone, that was just part of the “script” as she had to keep the deception going. Shyann and Jessica seem quite happy together and there is no reason to not just come out and show that. It seems that Mama June just wants the element of surprise when Jessica reveals that she is not only in a relationship but one with a woman. Yet, hearing the backstory will be interesting for fans.

Gone Too Far?

Some people just watch Mama June for entertainment value. Then there are moments, such as these, when the math does not add up. Jessica Shannon has been proudly out with Shyann long before the season started filming. Therefore, it is clear that this is a loosely based reality. Does it matter if it is good television? Maybe not but does this skew the way you see the show going forward?
