Timeline: ‘Yellowstone’ Star Kevin Costner’s Very Bad 2023
Over his career, Kevin Costner has had some of the highest highs, and some of the lowest lows. The Waterworld star has won awards, both prestigious and mocking.
For the past few years, it seems that his portrayal of John Dutton in Yellowstone has brought the Dances With Wolves star back to the pinnacle of his career. However, 2023 has proven to be a challenge to his professional reputation, and his personal life.
What has been happening in the Field Of Dreams star’s 2023 so far?
Kevin Costner Unable To Collect Golden Globe
On January 1, Paramount aired the final episode of Yellowstone Season 5, Part 1. Next, they announced that the remainder would return sometime in the summer. They did not specify a date.
Then, it was awards season, and Kevin Costner was up for the Golden Globe for Best Actor In A Drama Series. Finally, the Taylor Sheridan-created series was getting some real accolades.
However, during this time, California experienced some serious storms, particularly in the Santa Barbara area where Kevin, his wife Christine, and their three children live.
On January 11, Costner went to Twitter to reveal they were unable to attend. In a video shared with fans, he revealed that they had to take their kids out of school. He expressed remorse that he could not walk his wife Chris on the red carpet, as she had purchased a special gown for the occasion.
It turns out that Costner won the Golden Globe, but he missed his chance to shine in the glow of his fellow actors.
Chaos On Yellowstone Set
When February rolled in, Yellowstone fans were shocked to learn that there was some major chaos on the set of the Paramount series. This has made dedicated fans upset.
Worst of all, accusations were flying that for the remaining six episodes of Season 5, Kevin Costner was unable to film for more than a week.
Soon, his lawyer Marty Singer characterized this as “lies.” Several publications shared stories from both sides. Costner was concerned that Taylor Sheridan was too busy, as he is currently working on about a dozen series.
Sources have claimed Costner was available to film, but the script was not ready. In addition, the animosity between Sheridan and Costner has led many to speculate that Kevin will be killed off in a Brian Cox, Succession sort of way.

Kevin Costner Yellowstone Stars Are PaleyFest No-Shows
On April 1, Yellowstone fans traveled for up to four hours to go to Los Angeles to attend PaleyFest. This event was billed to include Kevin Costner, Taylor Sheridan, and the main cast of the Paramount series.
Instead, Josh Lucas, Mo Brings Plenty, Wendy Moniz, and Dawn Olivieri showed up to gasps and some fans walking out.
A few days later, it was reported by one of Costner’s people to the media that the Bull Durham star didn’t show up due to the drama with Sheridan.
Other than Kelly Reilly, there is no explanation as to why Sheridan and the rest of the main cast did not appear. It is unfortunate as if the 68-year-old actor did show up, he would have looked like a hero.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action."https://t.co/sxYXZQbKDt
