That is because he will be leaving Yellowstone. According to ET, a source “close to the production” has revealed that Costner will not be returning after Season 5.
However, this exit is not a total surprise. Since the beginning of February, there have been reports of chaos on the set. This has left the cast and crew very confused as to what is happening with the future of the series. According to Paramount and showrunner Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner has very limited time to film the remainder of Season 5 episodes. The word is that the Field of Dreams star is only available to film for about a week.
On the other hand, Costner’s people insist that the accusations that he is only available for a week are “lies.” His lawyer, Marty Singer, said, “The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie.
