Kanye West Reveals Signing Document Under Duress, Not Valid?

In a shocking turn of events, Kanye West is now countersuing his former business partner, Thomas St. John. Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband claims that he owes his business partner nothing as the deal they struck was NOT legal as he signed into it while under duress.

Kanye West claims he signed documents under duress

According to TMZ, court documents confirm Kanye West (and his brand Yeezy) is now countersuing his former business partner. In the lawsuit, the rapper argues that the deal they came to cannot be enforced because he signed the paperwork while he was “under duress.” Kanye’s suit notes that he was “sleep-deprived, stressed, anxious, and under duress” because of his messy divorce from Kim Kardashian.

Per the legal documents, Kanye met with his former business partner in March of last year. They worked out a deal that put him on a retainer for $300K per month. Kanye West acknowledges that he was in the middle of a social media meltdown when he met with Thomas St. John.

The rapper goes on to admit that he did sign a document locking his deal with his former business partner in place. But, he did not have any legal counsel present at the time. Unfortunately, his high-profile and messy divorce was draining him and he wasn’t thinking clearly.

Now, thinking with a much clearer head, Kanye West realizes that his former business partner took advantage of him during a very rough patch in his life.

The deal prevented his partner from being fired

Kanye West’s lawsuit also calls attention to a clause in this agreement that prevented him from firing his business partner for a minimum of 18 months. This clause guaranteed Kanye would continue to pad Thomas St. John’s bank account.

Their business arrangement only lasted about three months and Kanye is disgusted that his former partner has sued him to the tune of $5.4M. In response, Kanye has requested a judge rip up the contract. Moreover, Kanye wants his former partner to be forced to pay back the $900K he received for the three months they were in business together.
