In April 2022, Camila Cabello opened up about her struggles with body image. She was triggered by the paparazzi who followed her into a beach club during her trip to Miami. The pop star took to Instagram to share a powerful message with her followers. She recalled the moment when she tried to escape the cameras.

“I reminded myself when it impacted my self-esteem, that I was thinking the culture’s thoughts and not my own,” Camila Cabello wrote.  “A culture who has gotten so used to an image of what a ‘healthy’ woman’s body looks like that is completely not real for a lot of women.”

Even in her 20s, she still feels the pressure to look perfect. What doesn’t help is seeing the Photoshopped images on social media. There’s even more growing pressure to be thin no thanks to the Ozempic trend. Camila reminds herself to embrace her natural body and to allow herself to breathe.

In her lengthy post, the “Havana” singer admitted that she returned to the beach club in order to look good in the photos. However, she’s “never had a worst time at the beach” than she did that day. The more Camila worried about her appearance, the worse she felt about herself. She reminded her fans and followers to combat the messages they receive in the media about their bodies.

“Ironically, all the therapy, all the inner work is to try and get back to feeling like seven-year-old me on the beach,” Camila Cabello wrote. “I’m mourning her today. Happy, silly, breathing, pretending to be a mermaid, FREE.”

On Thursday, April 6, Camila Cabello uploaded a new selfie on her Instagram feed. She pulled up her black sweatshirt to highlight her tiny waist in an all-black bodysuit. The former Fifth Harmony member made sure her curves were on display in the bathroom selfie. She wore her dark brown hair messy around her face.

Behind her were a towel rack and an entrance into the next room. Camila included lyrics from Drake’s hit song”Search & Rescue.” However, she joked that it was William Shakespeare who wrote the song.

“‘Take me out the Club. Take me out the Trap. Take me off the market. Take me off the map. I’m trying to hit the group chat and tell them it’s a wrap.’ – Shakespeare,'” Camila Cabello wrote in the caption.

At the time of this writing, her post racked up over 1.5 million likes. One user joked: “That ain’t Shakespeare but nice bars.” Another user wrote: “Latina curves be poppin.😍😍😍”
