‘The Masked Singer’ Is Coming To McDonald’s
Over the past few seasons, The Masked Singer on Fox has become more and more commercial. In this season, every week is a theme week, with everything from DC Comics to Warner Bros movies on display while the singers base their performances around these themes.
Now, the popular reality show has really hit the big time when it comes to commercialism. The Masked Singer is going to McDonald’s.
The Masked Singer at McDonald’s
The news broke on Tuesday that The Masked Singer was coming to McDonald’s as a Happy Meal. The Happy Meal box will be in the design of the logo from the hit reality show and the toys will be based on beloved costumes from the past nine seasons. There are 12 plush toys for fans to collect.
If anyone thought the show was running out of steam, the fact that McDonald’s is buying in on the craze should reveal the truth. The Masked Singer is as popular as ever. Here is what anyone who orders a Happy Meal will get. On top of the regular food (burgers, nuggets, fries, etc.), there will be one of 12 collectible plush toys.
The announcement only listed only six of the 12 toys: T-Rex, Peacock, Thingamajig, Miss Teddy, White Tiger, and Space Bunny. However, after doing some digging, here are the other six options: Alien, Raccoon, Fox, Yeti, Prince, and Rhino. As always, there is no telling which toy will come in your Happy Meal if you want to collect all 12.
However, there is only a short time to get all the toys. These will enter into Happy Meals on April 4 and will be gone after April 24 (or until supplies run out).
Who were these Masked Singers from the Happy Meals?
These present a mixed bag of singers who have competed in the Fox reality singing competition over the years. There were two costumes from the first season, two from the second, three from the third, two from the fifth, and three from the seventh.
Alien was La Toya Jackson, who was eliminated in Week 7. Peacock was Donny Osmond, who finished the season in second place. The winner that season was T-Pain, who was Monster.
Thingamajig was Victor Oladipo and Fox was Wayne Brady in Season 2. Wayne Brady won it all and Oladipo made it to Week 11.
T-Rex was JoJo Siwa, White Tiger was Rob Gronkowski, and Rhino was Barry Zito from Season 3. None of them made it to the finals (Kandi Burruss won as Night Angel). Zito made it to Week 15, Gronk to Week 10, and JoJo was out in Week 9.
No costume from Season 4 is available (LeAnn Rimes won as Sun).
Raccoon was Danny Trejo and Yeti was Omarion from Season 5. Omariion made it to Week 11 and Trejo was out in Week 3. Nick Lachey won that season as Piglet.
Season 6 was another with no toys, and that was when Jewel won as Queen of Hearts.
Season 7 saw three McDonald’s toys come from that season – Miss Teddy (Jennifer Holliday), Space Bunny (Shaggy), and Prince (Cheyenne Jackson). Holiday was out in Week 6, Shaggy in Week 9, and Jackson ended up in third place in the finals.
