‘Seeking Brother Husband’ Real Or Staged?
Is Seeking Brother Husband real or staged? This is something that fans have wondered about most of the TLC reality shows. With the latest series, it seems like it has to be fake but is it? Read on for more details.
Is Seeking Brother Husband Real Or Staged?
When Seeking Brother Husband started, viewers were shocked. This was a show that fans had been asking for a long time, especially after Sister Wives and Seeking Sister Wife. It felt like women did not get the same opportunities to openly have multiple partners as men on television did. Yet, the moment the show premiered, people at home took a pause. Could this possibly be real? Then, more details emerged such as Kenya Stevens and her lifestyle. She and her husbands Carl and Tiger are not polyandrous. They are actually polyamorous and Carl has another wife, as well.
Additionally, Mike and Elisa are supposed to be newlyweds and she is the one who wants to pursue another partner. Yet, as it turns out, they have been mutually polyamorous and are in a true open relationship. It feels somewhat deceitful and like TLC is manufacturing the show for entertainment value. So, is the show fake and staged or is it real or, rather, staged with real elements? According to Distractify, it seems like it is a mixed bag. Kim is married to Dustin but is dating Vinson but that is becoming a struggle.
Yet, she added this: “We’ve always been an equal-partner relationship. Everything is 50/50. What I can do, he can do, so as I date, Dustin dates as well.” So, they are polyamorous as well. However, it does seem that all four of the couples are legitimately dating one another. So, there is that “realness” in the show. No one has been set up and no one is pretending that they are not looking to expand their families. It is just the verbiage and one-sided aspect that skews it a bit.
All About The Ladies
Seeking Brother Husband is all about women looking for more mates. Kenya wants a bigger home with Carl and Tiger so that she can have her own room to entertain. It has somehow not been acknowledged that Carl has a wife. Moreover, it has not been discussed that Kenya dated Chara’s current boyfriend, Noble at one point. The same goes for the aforementioned Mike and Elisa and how he acts like he is jealous of her dating.
In reality, he is dating, as well, and was apparently the one who proposed being polyamorous. The biggest misconception that seems to be circulating is that these couples want polyandry and it is only the women who want to explore. That is false. Three out of four couples have fully open polyamorous relationships.
Do you think that show is fake if they do not address that both parties can openly and freely date? Or would that ruin the entertainment factor? Let us know your thoughts and watch Seeking Brother Husband Sundays on TLC.
