Owen Wilson recently gave some info regarding a possible release window for Season 2 of Loki.
It’s been nearly two years since the initial premiere of Loki Season 1 on Disney+. The show, along with WandaVision, made fans realize that it’s possible to get movie-quality MCU material on the streaming platform. It brought new layers of complexity to the iconic Avengers villain. As well as kickstarting the multiverse era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the first season being so impactful, it’s only natural that fans have been anxiously awaiting the second season. There’s been next-to-no news about it lately. But, a recent interview with Owen Wilson shed some new light on a likely release window for the season.
Loki Season 2
Owen Wilson, who plays Mobius in Loki, spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the show recently. Initially, the question comes up about an appearance of himself and Tom Hiddleston in the end credits of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania. Wilson had some juicy things to say about what that all means.
“I guess they have kind of a little shot of Tom Hiddleston and I and Jonathan Majors from Loki season two. And I think that’s coming out end of the summer or September,” said Wilson during the interview.
So it seems as though fans can expect to see Loki return to screens sometime around August or September of this year. Owen seems excited about the future of the show and his character within the MCU. Clearly, the show will continue to explore the new major villain Kang the Conqueror. Season 1 of Loki is what officially brought Kang into the MCU. More recently, Kang was in Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania. In that movie, the threat level that Kang truly poses to the MCU becomes much more clear. This is likely something that Loki and Mobius will have to try and deal with in Season 2.
The MCU On Disney+
Loki and WandaVision are what began the MCU on Disney+ but they’re certainly far from alone now. Ever since those shows hit the platform, a wave of other Marvel content has come through. The problem is, there’s been some pushback to the sheer amount of content Marvel has been pushing out recently. Fans are pointing at the three new shows plus multiple specials from 2022 as “quantity over quality.” It seems Loki Season 2 has been in the oven for a while, though, so hopefully, the quality that was present in the first season continues to be present moving forward.
Loki Season 2 should be arriving sometime in mid-to-late 2023. The entire first season is available to stream on Disney+ now. Are you excited to watch the new season? Have you already streamed Season 1?
