Jujutsu Kaisen is finally back after a long wait with the official release date and a new trailer for Season 2.
One of the biggest new anime in the world, Jujutsu Kaisen, has been dormant from new episodes for a while now. Its successful initial season came to an end just over two years ago in March 2021. There was a movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, to fill the void briefly as fans were waiting for new episodes. But many are more than a little impatient to finally get back to the main story at hand. And that time is finally almost here.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
TOHO Animation gave fans the first full-length trailer for Season 2 just recently. The trailer contains a look at the first arc that Season 2 will be covering. An arc about the backstory of Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. The trailer is full of action, beautiful animation, and infectious music. It makes it seem as though the wait for this new season will be well worth all the time.
The release date given at the end of the trailer is July 6th. This, as of right now, is only confirmation of the Japanese release date. However, it is very likely that this will also be the release date in the United States for the premiere episode with English subtitles. It is fairly common practice nowadays for anime, especially popular anime, to premiere in the US and Japan simultaneously.
For fans who want to watch the English dub of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, the wait will obviously be a little longer. Most likely it will take at least a month for the English dub episodes to begin premiering in the US.
The New Arcs
Many fans are excited to finally get back to seeing Yuji harness his cursed energy within the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Sadly, though, if you’re looking for a sneak peek of that in the Season 2 trailer, it’s not there. The trailer focuses exclusively on the Satoru Gojo backstory arc. The season will begin on this arc, so fans hoping to get a lot of Yuji or Fushiguro in the early episodes of Season 2 will likely be disappointed.
It seems as though it will take some time for the series to finally get back into the swing of its main story. Hopefully, when it finally gets back to the main story of Yuji and friends, it will be as action-packed and curse-driven as ever.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is premiering on July 6th. The entire first season is available for streaming now on Crunchyroll in the US.
