Earlier this month, news broke about Tom Sandoval’s affair with Raquel Leviss. Fans wondered if Tom Schwartz knew about it and how long he knew. The pieces will be put together this season. An insider told E! News about the exact moment that Schwartz learned about his buddy’s affair.

It’s only been three weeks since the news broke. However, it feels like forever. The news just keeps coming out and it won’t die down anytime soon. Sandoval broke up with his long-time girlfriend Ariana Madix when she found out he was cheating on her with their co-star Raquel. Some wondered if his best friend and business partner held onto this secret as well.

Tom Schwartz also had romantic feelings for Raquel. The two make out more than once on this season of Vanderpump Rules. That rubs Schwartz’s ex-wife Katie Maloney the wrong way. She clearly saw something that no one else did at the time.

“Sandoval confided in Schwartz approximately three weeks before the news broke out, telling him he was having an affair with Raquel and that he was planning on telling Ariana,” the insider told E! News. “Schwartz urged him to tell Ariana right away.”

Tom Schwartz told TMZ that he knew for about a month. He also said that he told his friend to confess to Ariana about the affair. Ariana learned about it in the worse way possible. She discovered intimate text messages and footage of a FaceTime conversation between Sandoval and Raquel.

Was Tom Schwartz a distraction for ‘Scandoval’?

As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Raquel opened up about the affair on Wednesday, March 22. She spoke to the paparazzi about the ongoing incident. She denied the claims that she used Tom Schwartz as a distraction for the affair. Raquel says she honestly liked Schwartz and wanted to pursue him.

“I genuinely had an interest in Tom Schwartz,” Raquel told TMZ. “There’s a genuine curiosity there, so it wasn’t a coverup.”

Vanderpump Rules producers started filming the reunion on Thursday, March 23. The cast is not allowed to have their phones on stage to prevent leaks from happening. Only host Andy Cohen was allowed to have his phone. He filmed the cast and shared some of the behind-the-scenes moments.
