‘The Winchesters’ Jensen Ackles Hints At A Possible Season 2
The CW’s Supernatural prequel series The Winchesters aired its final episode on March 7, 2023, and fans are now excited for Season 2. However, the network hasn’t yet confirmed the show’s renewal. Moreover, the series’ showrunner Robbie Thompson recently revealed that he has no idea about the show’s future. The Winchesters Season Finale Revealed A Shocking Twist
When The Winchesters premiered on October 11, 2022, fans were intrigued about Jensen being a part of the show. However, it was later revealed that he won’t be a character in the series, but a narrator telling his father and mother’s story. However, the season finale’s shocking twist had Jensen reprise his role as Dean Winchester.

The prequel series revealed in its final episode that it actually exists in an alternate reality to the one Supernatural was set in for 15 seasons. The character Dean returned in time to save the day. Talking about the twist in the tale, Jensen said, “That’s the thing. Everybody’s like ‘I can’t believe you’re gonna mess with the show’s lore,’ and it’s like, ‘Hang on, just trust us.’ And in fact, it plays right into it. You’ve got Bobby, you’ve got Jack, you’ve got the fact that Sam is still on Earth, and here’s Dean, literally in heaven trying to do things to protect the life his brother’s living.”
The Winchesters Will Have More Supernatural Stars In Season 2
He also explained that this move in the season finale would allow the makers to bring in more characters from the original Supernatural series in the future. In conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the actor discussed the arrival of several familiar faces throughout Season 1. When asked if more characters from Supernatural would reprise their roles in the future, he hinted at what was being planned for Season 2.

“Yeah. People were like, ‘Are we gonna see more faces in the finale?’ And I was like, ‘Of course you are, but I’m not telling you who,” Jensen explained.
The Winchesters Makers Already Have Plans For Season 2
The Winchesters star explained that there is a treasure trove to choose from for Season 2. He even revealed that several actors from the original show called him up asking why they didn’t get a call to star in the prequel series.

So, it is obvious that the makers are ready with a plan for Season 2. Now, they are simply awaiting confirmation from the network. Even if The CW does cancel the show, its popularity would surely get buyers with rival networks and streaming platforms.
