These days, Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough is a very busy man. He and his fiancee Hayley Erbert are hard at work planning their wedding while juggling their other professional dance projects.
For the last several seasons, DWTS viewers have looked forward to Derek and Hayley’s epic performances. However, some fans are now questioning whether or not Derek Hough will be back in the ballroom this fall.
Keep reading and see why some think the 37-year-old may step away from the show.
Derek Hough can’t wait to perform in front of fans again
More than anything else in this world, Derek Hough loves performing. He won six Mirrorball Trophies during his time as a DWTS pro.
In fact, his love of dance is why he’s chosen to go back on tour this year. He excitedly shared information about his upcoming 2023 tour on social media.
“It’s been over 4 years since I’ve hit the road. So I’m ecstatic to announce a Brand New Live TOUR coming to your city this Fall !!! Go to Derekhough.com and Sign Up to stay up to date on Tour Dates and all other information leading up to this unforgettable Live experience. Tickets on sale in April. HERE WE GO!!! DEREKHOUGH.com,” the DWTS judge shared on his Instagram page.
“Yesssss can’t wait to see it,” Derek’s friend and DWTS costar Sasha Farber wrote in the comments.
“Heyyyyyyy let’s go! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽” Koko Iwasaki added.
While most of Derek’s fans were largely happy about the news, some couldn’t help but express concern. Does this tour mean that the Utah native won’t be back in time for Dancing With The Stars Season 32 this fall?
Can the six-time Mirrorball Trophy winner hold down two gigs at once?
Ultimately, it boils down to Derek’s tour dates. DWTS always kicks off in September, although the Season 32 premiere date hasn’t been announced yet. According to Derek’s tour website, he hasn’t confirmed any official show dates either.
However, all hope is not lost. The Utah dancer also had an ongoing Las Vegas show while he judged DWTS at the same time. After all, Derek Hough is just a judge now. He doesn’t have to teach a celebrity new choreography week after week as he did when he was a pro.
If Derek Hough wants to keep his seat at the judges’ table and also go on tour, he will find a way.
For now, there are still a lot of things that are up in the air about Dancing With The Stars Season 32. It will premiere on Disney+ this fall, but the cast list doesn’t come out until late summer.
Be sure to check back soon for more news and updates on Derek Hough and the rest of the DWTS cast. You won’t want to miss out!
