‘RHOC’: Heather & Terry Dubrow‘s Youngest, 12, Comes Out Trans
Terry and Heather Dubrow’s youngest child has come out as trans. The RHOC cast member made the official statement about their twelve-year-old today. What did she have to say and how did she celebrate the news? Read on for more details.
Terry & Heather Dubrow’s Youngest Child Comes Out Trans
Earlier Saturday morning, Heather Dubrow decided to celebrate International Son’s Day. By doing this, the mother of four decided it was the right time to share that her youngest child is transgender. At twelve years old, Ace is FTM but Heather made it clear that this will be their child’s story to tell when they are ready. When she returned to the RHOC for Season 16 after a several-year hiatus, Heather’s family dynamic changed a lot. Her kids were not little anymore like when she joined in Season 8. More so, her eldest daughter, Max had come out as bisexual.
Then, during the season, her third-born child, daughter Kat, revealed that she was a lesbian. Heather seemed to have a great approach to this, making her kids feel comfortable with their lifestyles. According to People, she is now celebrating Ace’s transition. In an Instagram post, she shared a picture of “ACE” written in the sand. Next to the picture, Heather wrote this: It’s International sons day! We love you, our youngest son, Ace ❤️ Our job as parents is to give our kids a safe and supportive environment so they can grow up as healthy, happy, confident, independent humans.”
Heather went on to add: “Since Ace is a 12 year old child, with a long life ahead of him – we will let him tell his own story someday if he chooses to do so. All we can say is Ace, we love you so much and we are proud to be your parents. Your brother and sisters love and support you too.” She also included a picture of her with her eldest son, Nick and they all clearly support Ace in his journey.
A Supportive Mama
As aforementioned, Heather Dubrow has been extremely supportive of her daughters Max and Katarina when they came out. “She’s asked me trillions of questions that really show she cares. She’s asked me about my pronouns. It’s really easy to talk to her. It’s not like I have to build up courage if I have something to tell her,” Kat explained when she made the announcement she was gay. However, Ace has been questioned for some time as he has chosen to wear suits and more masculine clothing. Heather and Terry spoke out against the haters and said: “Everyone always looked at [Ace] because [Ace] dresses ‘like a boy’, which, I hate those kinds of labels. It’s clothing. Clothing should just be clothing at this point.”
It will be interesting to see if more of Ace’s story is told in the upcoming season of RHOC. Are you happy with how Heather Dubrow supported her son? Let us know in the comments below.
