On Monday, CBS is airing the historic 450th episode of NCIS called “Usual Suspects.” This should not be the usual sort of episode. What sorts of surprises should fans expect? Sounds like anything is possible.

Here are some hints of what is happening in this milestone episode.

NCIS Airing Historic 450th Episode

NCIS is celebrating a milestone. They are airing their astounding 450th episode entitled “Usual Suspects.” According to TV Insider, this episode shows more about Parker’s (Gary Cole) past. Parker’s dad (Francis Xavier McCarthy) has just been kicked out of his assisted living facility. Apparently, the retired Navy veteran was exhibiting “rambunctious behavior.”

This leads Parker to start to look for a new abode for his cantankerous father. This leads to an unexpected criminal situation that needs Parker’s attention to solve.

NCIS 450th Episode Includes ‘Some Unexpected Family Members’

According to showrunner Steven D. Binder, Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) will have issues with being a single dad. Meanwhile, his girlfriend Agent Knight (Katrina Law) does some awesome rescuing that makes her go viral, much to her chagrin.

In addition, “Some unexpected family members will pop up and help us with a case.” Who could that be?

Will Mark Harmon Return For Milestone Episode?

One question NCIS fans may ask is whether or not Mark Harmon will un-retire and return as Gibbs. In another piece, TV Insider asked Steven D. Binder about the possibility of Leroy Jethro Gibbs returning in this episode.

“Gibbs has, in my mind, advanced to a higher plane of existence for now—I don’t want to place him in an apartment in Anchorage or anywhere. We left him smiling on a river happy, and that’s the image I want people to have until we’re really ready to blow that out of the water or truly embrace it in some way.”

In other words, the showrunner does not want to waste such an important return with a small storyline. It has to be big. Therefore, should Mark Harmon return now, this sounds like it would be for a long-running story arc.

However, what about the possible return of Michael Weatherly? If anyone knows what it is like to be a single dad it would be Tony. He could certainly show up in one way or another to give Jimmy advice. This could also lead fans to finally get that Tiva reunion that they have wanted for nearly a decade.

However, if there is a fan-favorite returning, this seems like the episode. Then again, the showrunners like to surprise fans.

Be sure to catch NCIS Monday, February 27, at 9 p.m., Eastern, on CBS, or On Demand on Paramount+.
