My 600-LB Life- TLC

My 600-Lb. Life is back and viewers have started to enjoy the stories of the new cast members. One cast member, Wess Schulze is working his way to a better life. Wess has dealt with a lot in life and his dad hasn’t been the most helpful. In fact, his father has swept a lot of things under the rug. Wess’ story is featured in the third episode of Season 11. He is seeking the help of Dr. Now because his weight has gotten out of control. More so, he revealed that as a child, he was molested by someone in his family. This traumatic experience caused him to look for comfort in his food. Overeating is the only way he has been able to deal with his emotions. However, his family knows that it happened, but pretty much shrugged it off. Now it looks as if fans of the show have some harsh words for them.

Wess Schulze Comes Out

Wess’ story really hit home with many viewers this past week. He went on to talk about how he gorged himself on food because if he got fat and unattractive, there would be no reason to molest him. This terrible event changed his life forever and fans wanted to see more support from his father. His father, who is an amazing cook, knew that Wess loved to eat. He would cook him very large portions of food. Was this the way that his father acknowledged his trauma? Did he feel that feeding him well would make it for the bad times?

Things go even worse for Wess when he came out as gay to his father. His father felt as if being gay was truly unacceptable and pushed Wess further away from him. Since Wess is trying to make changes to his life, he decided that he needed to talk to his dad about the issues in their relationship. As soon as fans watched this scene, they immediately started in on Wess’ father. The conversation didn’t sit right with a lot of them. Meaww shared some of the Tweets about this scene.

From the looks of it, fans felt that Wess’ dad, Rick, could have been a lot more supportive of his son. When he tried to come out as gay the first time, it was a different time. There were a lot more questions back then about being open, so this could have impacted his father’s thoughts as well. Fans can tell that Rick does love him as a son, but there is a lot to unpack here.

Do you think that Rick will be able to help Wess through this process and accept him for who he is? Let us know what you think in the comments below and stay with TV Shows Ace for more My 600-Lb. Life.
