Season 11, Episode Episode 3: Wess’ Journey
Season 11, Episode 3 introduces fans to 705-pound Wess Schulze. Living alone, Wess reveals that he was molested by a family member at a very young age. This trauma resulted in him gorging himself in food. He explained to the cameras that somewhere in his mind he believed that if he gorged himself until he was morbidly obese and wildly unattractive, he wouldn’t have to worry about anyone hurting him the way he was hurt as a child.
Speaking to Dr. Paradise, Wess opens up about his trauma explaining that his family brushed it under the rug when it happened. Moreover, he also shared coming out of the closet when he was a teenager only to be shoved back by family members who convinced him it was wrong.
By the end of the episode, Wess Schulze was successful in getting weight loss surgery and had lost 228 pounds. Still having a lot of work to do, fans wonder how much progress he’s made since this episode was filmed.
The episode ends with Wess and his father heading to a plaza to enjoy a play together. Wess admits he’s always felt a calling to be on stage and perform. And, fans hope he loses enough weight to get to a place where he can do just that.

I was really rooting for Wess and it looks like he’s doing well. He sure looks better with a haircut and losing that facial hair! It’s obvious that he’s lost a lot more weight and I hope he keeps up the great work. Go, Wess!!!
Just watched Wes story on 600 pound life. Though he endured some horrible experiences in childhood, there is so much more to his story. He is to be applauded for his natural acting talents, his natural good looks and his determination to turn the Titanic ship of his food addiction. Congrats and keep up the daily progress.
