‘Today’ Al Roker & Craig Melvin Giggle During Beauty Segment

Al Roker & Craig Melvin got the giggles

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Today Show, Al Roker and Craig Melvin couldn’t keep a straight face during an anti-aging segment. They felt left out, so they watched from their seats as Sheinelle Jones hosted the segment. She talked about popular anti-aging treatments with guest Dr. Marnie Nussbaum such as slugging and cryo-freezing.

She mentioned micro-needling, which removes the “top layers of the skin.” It leads to a “decrease [in] fine lines and wrinkles.” Al Roker and Craig Melvin thought it was crazy to be poked by millions of tiny needles in the face. However, they couldn’t stop laughing at the thought of it.

Suddenly, the laughing was contagious. Craig exclaimed: “It looks like it hurts!” The doctor explained there will be discomfort depending on the level of the procedure. However, it goes away “one to two days of downtime.” Al Roker let out a fake yelp during the segment, which gave some people a fright.

Sheinelle looked over at the giggly men and asked: “Who’s laughing?” Craig asked: “One to two days? That’s a full-on procedure.” Both men continued to have the giggles. Meanwhile, Sheinelle carried on with the rest of the segment as usual.

Laughter is the best medicine

Al Roker is relying on laughter as his medicine. It’s what gets him through those tough days. He returned from his lengthy hospital stay that took place during the holidays. Al was off the morning show for months after he suffered from multiple blood clots in his legs and lungs.

He returned to the set of the talk show during the first week of January. Al Roker has been joking around with his co-hosts since his return. In time for Valentine’s Day, he appeared in the upcoming issue of People with his wife Deborah Roberts. The two even posed together on the cover.

Inside the new issue, they talked about their love story. The feature is called “To Love & to Cherish.” There are also photos of their wedding day and the moments they spent together. Al Roker recalled getting married in New York and then heading over to host the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
