‘Today’s’ Savannah Guthrie Announces Her New Show On Netflix
Today show host Savannah Guthrie has a new gig away from the NBC network. The American broadcaster shared with fans her show that premieres on Netflix today. Apart from her job as a correspondent at the morning show, she has also authored two children’s books. One of these has inspired her new show on the streaming platform. Savannah Guthrie Teases Princess Power’s Premiere On Netflix
The new animated Netflix show is based on Savannah Guthrie’s children’s book series, Princess Wear Pants. Titled Princess Power, the series is also executive produced by the news broadcaster alongside Drew Barrymore. The first season will have a total of 14 episodes and features four important characters. Bea Blueberry, Penny Pineapple, Kira Kiwi, and Rita Raspberry, come together from different fruit-inspired kingdoms and use girl power to achieve what they want.

With the cartoon series premiering on January 30, 2023, Guthrie teased the launch on Instagram over the weekend. In the post, she shared a throwback picture compilation of her daughter Vale from when she was younger and was seen wearing a jumper. The post was captioned, “One more day! PRINCESS POWER debuting on Netflix.”
Jacob Soboroff Approves Savannah Guthrie’s New Show
Fans flocked to the comments section as one wrote, “We are so excited. My granddaughter loves books and is so happy she’ll be able to watch all of the adventures. I can’t count how many times she’s watched the trailer already.”
Another revealed, “My daughter asked this morning ‘when can I watch this?’ Can’t wait.”

Several viewers also claimed that the new show will appeal to more than just young girls. They asserted that the show will also be a great watch for moms and women across America. However, it wasn’t just Savannah Guthrie’s fans that congratulated her on the new show. MSNBC and NBC journalist Jacob Soboroff posted his mark of approval on the post with multiple clapping emojis. The 11th Hour host on MSNBC, Stephanie Ruhle added, “I cannot!!!!!!” in excitement.
Savannah Guthrie’s First Book Was Released In 2017
Back in September 2022, Savannah Guthrie had teased that her children’s picture books were being adapted into a TV show. She revealed that everyone has worked very hard on the TV adaptation and the outcome is really cute. The mother of two added, “It’s called Princess Power now, but it’s the story of all the little girls from the various fruit kingdoms. It’s just about girls coming together to solve problems. It is so sweet.”

She authored the book series alongside Allison Oppenheim which was released in 2017 followed by its sequel in 2018.
