In late November 2022, Kanye West addressed Balenciaga’s scandalous photo shoot. The brand featured children modeling teddy bear-shaped handbags dressed in bondage. Kanye has been a longtime supporter and collaborator of the luxury label. Around the time, paparazzi caught up with him after he left a church service.

Kanye West asked his fellow celebrities to boycott the brand. He shared his thoughts on the controversy in an interview with TMZ.

“This just shows you all celebrities are controlled. You don’t see no celebrities talking about the Balenciaga situation,” Kanye West told TMZ. “All these celebrities out here, don’t let them influence you in any way because they’re controlled by the people who really influence the world. They’re not serving God.”

His ex-wife Kim Kardashian issued a statement on her Instagram Stories. She admitted that she kept “quiet” on the scandal. Kim shared that she was left “shaken by the disturbing images.” She has starred in many of Balenciaga’s ad campaigns and has worn the brand’s designs.

Balenciaga dropped Ye

Back in October 2022, Balenciaga cut ties with Kanye West. This comes after his many anti-Semitic comments and defense of his “White Lives Matter” T-shirts. The French fashion house released a statement about their partnership with the hip-hop artist.

“Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist,” parent company Kering said in its statement with WWD.

Many other fashion brands ended their contracts with Kanye West around the same time. Both The Gap and Adidas parted ways with the controversial fashion designer. Kanye lost his billionaire status as a result. However, that hasn’t stopped him from spending money on his new wife.

Per TMZ, Kanye West took his wife Bianca Censori on a shopping spree to Balenciaga. He still supports the label even though he called on other celebrities to cut ties with them. The two were caught walking around the store. Last week, the newlyweds went to the Beverly Hills location on Rodeo Drive.

Both of them had several shopping bags. Kanye West wore a black puffer coat with a tank top that featured the coat of arms of the German Reich, which was used by Nazi Germany. It was the original symbol before they used the swastika. His platinum-blonde wife wore an orange fur coat with black knee-high boots.
